For White Claw Sessions — White Claw’s summer takeover of The Surf Lodge in Montauk — Geo Events fabricated, produced, and installed the branded environment end to end. Mirror-finish WHITE CLAW letters standing on the sand at the edge of Fort Pond. An oversized white photo frame scattered with the brand’s colored can tabs, set on the waterfront deck. Custom White Claw Sessions surfboards at the entrance and along the beach. A reclaimed-wood sign on the gateway off Edgemere Street. Four builds, one property, composed so the brand read from the first step onto the grounds to the last photo at sunset.

01  /  The Challenge

The Surf Lodge is not a blank venue. It is one of the most recognizable properties on the East End of Long Island, with its own weathered-wood, sand-and-planting language and a guest who arrives with a camera already up. A takeover here has to be total enough that White Claw owns the frame of every photo and restrained enough that nothing looks bolted onto a beach club. The brief was that balance: unmistakable brand presence that still felt native to Montauk.

The conditions were the second half of the problem. Every build would live outdoors for the run of the program — in sand, salt air, direct sun, and wind straight off the pond — on an operating hospitality property where install windows are short and nothing can disrupt service. That meant fully resolving each piece in the shop, engineering for transport roughly 120 miles east from Manhattan, and executing on site as placement rather than construction.

02  /  The Solution

Geo Events treated the property as one composition with four movements, each placed for a specific sightline and each built to be photographed. Our event fabrication team carried every piece from drawings through shop build, transport, on-site production, and installation.

The arrival came first. A reclaimed-wood WHITE CLAW sign, lettered in white and mounted to the driftwood-style gateway at the Edgemere Street entrance, met guests in the venue’s own material vocabulary — a brand mark that reads as if it had always hung there. Beside it, a custom White Claw Sessions surfboard on a freestanding mount, the first of a series placed through the property, set the visual thread that would repeat down to the water.

On the sand, nine oversized dimensional letters in a polished mirror finish spelled WHITE CLAW along the shore of Fort Pond, mounted on a low plinth base. The mirror was the point: it took on the water, the sky, and the string lights overhead, so the wordmark shifted with the light from afternoon into the sunset hours the venue is known for. Fabricated as individual letters, the piece was carried across the beach by hand and aligned on site.

At the water’s edge, an oversized freestanding photo frame in a hand-textured white finish, scattered with White Claw’s multicolor can-tab graphics and crowned with the wordmark, was installed on a wood deck platform with a Sessions surfboard set inside it and rattan lanterns at its feet. The opening frames the pond behind whoever steps in, turning every guest picture into a branded landscape. It was proportioned for a phone camera and built to stand on a windy waterfront.

The surfboards tied it together — a trio displayed against the weathered fence in the sand, one at the entrance, one inside the frame — each carrying the White Claw Sessions wave mark and The Surf Lodge, Montauk lockup, each on its own mount so the venue could re-stage them as the summer moved. Brand activation at the scale of a property, delivered the way we deliver events across the Hamptons: fabricated, produced, and installed under one roof.

Case Details

What did Geo Events build for White Claw Sessions at The Surf Lodge?

Four custom installations for White Claw's summer takeover of The Surf Lodge in Montauk: oversized mirror-finish WHITE CLAW letters on the sand at Fort Pond, a large white photo frame covered in colored can-tab graphics on the waterfront deck, a series of custom-branded White Claw Sessions surfboards, and a reclaimed-wood entrance sign — all fabricated, produced, and installed by Geo Events.

How do you fabricate branded installations for a beach venue like The Surf Lodge?

By resolving everything in the shop and engineering for the site. Each piece was built in our New York shop for sand, salt air, sun, and wind, sized to be carried across the beach by hand, and designed to sit level on plinths, platforms, and freestanding mounts — so the on-site work at the venue was placement and alignment, not construction.

Why use mirror-finish letters instead of printed or painted signage?

Because a mirror turns the setting into the graphic. At The Surf Lodge the polished letters reflected Fort Pond, the sky, and the string lights overhead, so the WHITE CLAW wordmark changed with the light through the afternoon and into sunset. Printed signage reads the same in every photo; the mirror letters gave the brand a different image every hour.

Does Geo Events produce brand activations in Montauk and the Hamptons?

Yes. Geo Events designs, fabricates, and produces brand activations across Montauk, the Hamptons, and the East End of Long Island, delivered and installed from our New York City shop. White Claw Sessions at The Surf Lodge and the Delilah x Chase pop-up in Montauk are both recent examples of full-scope fabrication and on-site production in the market.
