Barbie Dream House at Cipriani
The Narrative.
A two-story Barbie Dream House — built from raw materials to finished installation inside one of New York’s most iconic event venues. Not a set piece. Not a photo backdrop. A fully realized architectural structure, engineered to be walked through, photographed from every angle, and experienced as a physical extension of the Barbie brand universe.
The installation transformed Cipriani’s grand hall into an immersive brand environment, with custom pink architectural elements, branded scenic walls, and fabricated interior vignettes across two levels. Every surface was designed to translate the Barbie aesthetic into architectural reality — from CNC-cut decorative panels to scenic-painted surfaces matched to Pantone specifications. The structure was engineered for load safety, assembled on-site, and delivered within a single load-in window.
The Challenge
Constructing a freestanding, two-story architectural installation inside a landmark venue with strict load-bearing restrictions, limited load-in access, and zero tolerance for damage to historic surfaces. The structure needed to be fully self-supporting, visually flawless from every angle, and safe for hundreds of guests to interact with — all installed and struck within venue-mandated windows.
The Solution
We engineered the Dream House as a modular, self-supporting steel and wood structure — pre-fabricated in our NYC shop and test-assembled before delivery. Custom scenic panels, branded surfaces, and interior vignettes were built as drop-in components that attached to the primary structure without any contact with the venue’s floors, walls, or ceiling. The entire installation was assembled by our crew in a single load-in day, with protective flooring systems ensuring zero venue impact. Strike was completed in under eight hours.
